I think I can speak for SDH here and say... We prefer to be called moralistic, preachy, Zonies! :)

About the DSO... I've never listened to them and have mixed emotions about them. They are going to be here in April, just happens to be the same weekend as my birthday... Should I stay, or should I go???

Go. Not to replace you memories of the original, but to hear a talented band passionately pay homage to a band and music they love as much or more than we do. Not corny, not hokey. Just a good time out for you on your b-day.

Yeah go! It is worth it. Not a exactly the real thing, but it sure is fun. The guy that looks like Bobby looks a little too much like younger Bobby. Almost creepy in a way. Both 'Jerry' and 'Bobby' vocals sound pretty much like the real ones, even the phrasing. One of the best things is picking the show they are playing. For your birthday it would be a treat. I don't listen to their bootlegs since I can get the real GD shows here at the Archive, but the concert expereince is amazing. Best Dead cover band I have seen. They are pretty much spot on in their reproductions. They even use the right type of gear for the era. They will be in Portland, OR Mar 23 & 24 and I'll go see them. The only bummer (and it isn't that bad) is if they play an original setlist, only because their schtick is the reproduction of a show song for song. That's my 2 cents.

Here's a couple shows they just played that would have been great to see:
